ENGIE are recruiting for a Multi-skilled Mechanical Technician – Utilities Contract to be based in York. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary of £29070.00 per annum plus a call out allowance of £2887.00 per annum. Purpose : To operate and maintain the plant at the site identified above in line with existing procedures, thereby fulfilling site health, safety, environmental, quality and customer service targets. The Sites Utilities Contract covers the management of a combined heat and power plant, refrigeration plant, water treatment, air compressors, steam, condensate and air distribution. Duties and Responsibilities : Specific to this post: To carry out planned and unplanned maintenance and operational routines on CHP Plant, steam, water and compressed air distribution systems. Preparation for other pressure systems, (statutory) boilers and compressors and other equipment that may be required within the contract. Assist other members of the team to ensure flexibility and meeting the needs of the customer. To ensure that the Senior Technician & Operations manager is kept well informed of all aspects of safety performance, plant performance and customer circumstances which may impact upon the safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective operation of the plant and smooth operation of the contract. SHEQ : To work to all Engie’s and the customer’s, rules and procedures, giving particular emphasis to Health Safety Security & Environmental management. This includes regulations on waste, the environment and COSHH. Customer Care : To maintain a good working relationship with customer representatives and work in a manner which ensures that all aspects of the service agreement between Engie and the customer are delivered with the requisite levels of professionalism. General : To follow the company procedures and standards as expressed in the Company Handbook To complete all administrative functions correctly and efficiently, either paper log books or by using appropriate IT software, e.g. Maintenance Management System (SAM). To become fully familiar with all Company and site procedures, which affect him and carry out all responsibilities detailed in Engie’s management system. To represent the Company well to customers and external agencies, by reasonable dress and demeanour and ensure the site and all Company property are maintained in a clean and tidy condition. Pipe Fitter Basic electrical knowledge City & Guilds/NVQ level 2 or equivalent, relevant on the job experience Time served craftsman Preparing Equipment for and working with an Insurance Inspector Working in a food manufacturing environment Working on Boilers Working on Air Compressors Working on Gas Turbines Electrical work associated with Mechanical activities e.g. Electrical Isolation Ability to work unsupervised Literacy Numeracy Basic IT Skills Knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems Be able to demonstrate self-motivation Customer focused Work to tight deadlines Support contractors on site Team player Housekeeping and cleanliness Working at height Working in confined spaces Able to work in a 24/7 call-out system Willing to work overtime For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
