Be-IT Resourcing is working in close partnership with a well-established consultancy, seeking experienced Java Software Developers with various level of expertise to work on a large-scale governmental project in Agile / SCRUM and classical approach environments. The Role You will join an established team of developers to work on a fast paced and client facing programme, to deliver an IT solution that will facilitate the European Union's strategic agriculture development programme. You will actively participate in a full development life cycle and ensure the project is delivered on time and according to highest standards, work with open source technologies, bring in innovative and pragmatic solutions, as well as mentor junior team members and liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Initially, the role will be focused on a full-time assignment in a client site in Edinburgh. Thereafter the candidate’s normal base-office will be Glasgow. Requirements At least 3 years of core Java/ Java EE development experience Experience working on complex, large-scale projects in various methodologies, i.e. Agile / SCRUM, Waterfall etc. Knowledge of SOA/microservices Enterprise middleware and frameworks Experience with integration tools, i.e. Fuse, Camel or similar Experience working with Linux environments and open source technologies Some experience with OracleDB & PL/SQL, Hibernate/ JPA, XML/XSD data design, Web services (i.e. SOAP) Excellent communication skills and a structured approach to problem diagnosis and resolution Occasional travel to other parts of the UK may be required Candidate must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (living at least 5 years in the UK) Benefits On top of a competitive salary and employee benefits (i.e. health and wellness program, paid time-off program, profit participation, stock purchase plan, social clubs), our client offers an opportunity to work with emerging technologies and a possibility to build a brilliant career in a forward-thinking organization and work in modern, centrally-located offices.
