Event Technical Lead Salary: to £35,000 benefits and bonus (flexible dependent upon experience) Location: home based, with travel sites and Head Office in Gloucestershire IT savvy, technologically motivate, dynamic, vibrant, highly commercial, rapidly expanding, market leading and based in Gloucester - interested? Our client operates as a leader within the events management sector, delivering valuable, innovative and high quality services to the UK’s most prestigious sporting events and the largest festivals. Whilst this is an exciting and rewarding sector, it operates at the weekend and this role would include a high volume of weekend work during their busy periods (Summer). Naturally, you would work a five-day week. Our client is a well-established leader within the Events Management & Events Catering industries and has seen significant growth, which they very much aim to continue. The industry is extremely fast paced and evolving, with the use of new technology, social media and IT applications, providing ongoing opportunity for their further development as a brand leader in their field. The industry has now become an all year round proposition with events throughout the calendar, although there is a significant peak during the spring to late summer period during which they will employ as many as 600/700 staff each weekend, managing/supplying as many as 180 vendors on one site. The role sits within a newly formed division, IT, which supports their operational businesses as well as building their own customers/revenue streams to complement their existing business model. In the role, you and your team will be responsible for planning, design, delivery and support of all things IT that is used onsite at major events – Wi-Fi, software, hardware, networks, EPOS, PDQ’s and many other areas of emerging technology & applications. In addition to your technical strengths, you will be at home in the field, on-site, being hands on and in communicating & leading your team in the delivery of excellence through the provision of your IT services. You will be willing and able to communicate effectively with third parties and with customers, being the dynamic face of the organisation throughout. In addition to the above, you will be an ideal person – motivated by the enormous value that IT will present to the Events industry in the future.
