Position: Logistics Controller Location: London, Angel Job type: Full time, Permanent Salary: £Competitive About the role: To provide a structured, quality, stores and material management process on site in accordance with the Project Specific Logistics Plan and H&S requirements. To reduce waste, both material and labour, and improve site productivity as a consequence. Responsibilities: - Have a full understanding of pertinent items within the Project Logistic Plan. - Within the designated stores area, clearly label shelves and materials, c/w maximum & minimum required stock levels for linear items. (Stock levels / materials to be advised by Project Team). - Management of stock levels and simple reporting procedure. - Completes ‘stores attendance register’ – to record number of visits and reasons for the visits. - Within the designated stores area, set up and clearly label a ‘Quarantine Area’ for defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied materials. - Within the designated stores area, set up and maintain a lockable COSHH cupboard, c/w relevant COSHH documentation. - Clearly label shelves within the Mobile Material Storage Units, (Wardrobes) and maintain adequate stock levels of required materials. (Stock levels / materials to be advised by Project Team). - Familiarity with Bailey Standardisation Catalogue and general M&E products. - Maintain an excellent standard of tidiness within the designated stores and mobile material storage units. - Re-cycle or return of waste to suppliers. - Assists Project Team to clear stores at Project Completion. - Record items of PPE issued to personnel. - Maintain adequate stock of PPE. (Stock levels / PPE type to be advised by Project Team). - Register delivery of Plant from suppliers. - Maintains Plant documentation regarding certificates of compliance & calibration. - Have a full understanding of who is eligible to be issued Plant. - Record items of Plant issued to personnel. - Completes regular Plant inspections documentation. - Prior to taking delivery of materials, know what it is and where they are going. - Complete all necessary checks on materials before offloading, including correct paperwork is attached to delivery. - Ensure all H&S policies are observed during offloading / distribution. - Sign and print your name for all deliveries received. - Ensure supplier, where applicable, removes excess packaging from previous deliveries in accordance to agreements within the Project Logistic Plan. - Distribute materials to appropriate location. - Complete suppliers KPI documentation and return to Project Team, c/w GRN. - Complete ‘dummy’ GRN if required. - Facilitate deliveries from Bailey Off-Site, Pre-Fabrication to Project programme requirements. - Receives regular information from Project Team regarding deliveries, in advance, and actions accordingly. - Communicates with Project Team regarding any previous or forthcoming delivery issues. - Communicates with Project Team regarding any PPE / Plant issues. - Communicates with Project Team regarding any issues regarding adequate provision of space for off-loading and storage of incoming or existing deliveries. - Communicates with appropriate personnel from the Main Contractor, Sub-contractors regarding deliveries. About you: - Have a full understanding of who is eligible to be issued PPE. - Have a full understanding of ‘suppliers’ obligations to deliver as agreed within the Project Logistic Plan. - Must be able to present data to managers and client. - Strong Knowledge of Logistics process essential. - Experience of setting up logistics processes desirable. - Rail/Crossrail project exposure ideal.
