Director of International Development Bournemouth, Dorset (office/field based, with significant overseas travel) c£50,000 (Negotiable) Our client is a strong and vibrant conurbation. Although best known for tourism, Bournemouth is one of the top five cities and towns for jobs growth in the UK (Source: Centre for Cities 2004-13) and is ranked the fastest growing area in the UK’s digital economy (Source: Tech Nation). The organisation operates from 3 major sites across Bournemouth and Poole. Our client is an ambitious and financially secure GFE college serving over 12,000 full and part time learners, with an annual income of £35m. At our most recent Ofsted inspection (February 2016), we were rated as a Good college. Our client’s current Director is taking well-earned retirement so they are looking for someone new to lead the further development and implementation of their international business strategy. Our client has an excellent reputation for their international activity, and hold the UKVI’s highly trusted sponsor status. As post holder, you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will take the lead in and be responsible for developing and implementing a well-targeted international business development plan that achieves targets for growth in international income. You will also be accountable for the delivery of standalone international programmes. You should have a degree and a proven track record in the formulation and execution of successful international strategies. Ideally you will have successfully managed international operations within a Further or Higher Education institution. It is essential that you are able to demonstrate sound understanding and experience of curriculum design and delivery and how this can be leveraged into international business. You will need to have the ability to motivate, inspire and lead a diverse range of staff and to build relationships in different cultures. The post will require you to spend significant amounts of time travelling overseas, often on your own.
