Role Overview: Integrated Solutions (IS) is a central work winning team which sits within and also creates opportunities for the Construction & Investments (C&I) Division. The role of the team is to: Lead and support on national frameworks by working with business units to develop schemes, submit bids and manage client relationships Lead national and strategic bids as defined by the C&I Construction Board, which include: New national frameworks Bids that involve more than one business unit Work in strategic sectors and new markets Bids for strategic national clients and/or major projects Coordinate business development activities across the UK, including key account management and customer satisfaction processes Provide specialist work winning support including bid writing, bid reviews, research and knowledge management We are recruiting for an Assistant Bid Manager who will be responsible for supporting the successful preparation and development of bids, as part of the C&I Division, targeting success within National and Regional public sector frameworks.They will promote the Galliford Try business, seeking out and advancing business development opportunities to drive revenue into the Building Division.The successful candidate must be a proven project manager who can set direction and deliver under challenging and competitive conditions. The role involves extensive travel across the UK. Location flexible. Key Responsibilities: Bid Coordination Support the Bid Managers including creation of bid directories, liaising with bid teams to ensure information is received on time, attendance at bid meetings and recording actions from meetings; Participate in and manage the development of submissions in line with bid requirements. Work with the regional businesses and external consultants, advisers and design teams; Coordinate the bid submission processes; Coordinate the formatting of the document with the submission team; and assist with bid production activities; In liaison with the project Bid Manager, coordinate updates, maintain a register of clarifications issued and received and ensure timely responses are made; Provide information in order to develop a bid win strategy to maximise chances of winning the project at commercial sustainable rates; Support the development of submissions in line with the bid requirement including drafting and reviewing bid text; Undertake the detailed assessment of the bid deliverables; Produce bid submission matrices identifying individual responsibilities for every section; Coordinate the formatting of the document with the submission team; Monitor receipt of information from authors against the submission matrix and ensure information is received on time; Maintain a register of the bid clarifications issued and received; and Complete and update the bid pursuit plan. Design Management Manage pre-construction design requirements for the tender; Develop alternative design solutions; and Maintain a knowledge of alternative technical solutions with a view to being able to resolve tender solutions with innovative solutions. Business development Research and investigation of potential opportunities and networking; Maintain topical knowledge of the requirements of the marketplace and maintain up-to-date resource for practical presentation; Undertake research to provide information for the business and bid strategy; and Undertake research with the regional businesses to provide project information sheets, case studies and general information to support the work winning process. Experience, Skills and Qualifications: Degree level or equivalent; Experience of the Health sector – preferable but not essential Experience of managing and delivering multiple bids on a call-off basis from an existing framework; Experience from within the Construction Industry; IT literate – conversant in Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Basic knowledge of InDesign; and Oracle Business Management System or similar. Proven success in winning bids/tenders, including exposure to National Frameworks; Well-developed analytical, oral, presentation and communication skills; Ability to provide bid review skills across a wide variety of sectors and clients; High quality presentational skills and ability to present to a varied audience including clients, design team, supply chain and internally; Track record of successfully managing bids; Highly organised and methodical approach to bid activity.
