Location: Initially based at Silvertown with relocation to Dagenham. Business: This company's operations have a market-leading presence in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain. The Group's Companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The Company has a UK annual turnover approaching £250 million and employs around 1,000 people at 23 sites across the country. Position: Applications are invited for a Supply Chain Manager to work within their third state of the art Anaerobic Digestion and CAT 3 transfer station. The successful candidate will be based at their Silvertown site until the Dagenham build phase is complete, and then relocation to the Dagenham site will be required. This is a full time permanent position. As a Supply Chain Manager your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company's requirements but will include: - Managing c.45 employees including drivers and administration staff to achieve daily and deliver KPI's. - Managing the raw material supply chain - co-ordinating supplies with customers and internal personnel. - Ensuring the efficient running of the Company's collection services. - Planning efficient operation of the vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and service levels maintained. - Proactively seek solutions to operational problems, identifying solutions and implementing where required. - Ensuring any queries/briefings relating to drivers are dealt with. - Ensuring vehicles are available to the correct standard and taking action when needed with contractors who service and repair the vehicles. - Recruitment, management and development of drivers. - Ensuring total compliance of departmental Driving Regulations, Working Time Directive, Agency Worker Regulations; taking action when needed. - Preparing vehicle KPI's in line with company requirements. The Person - CPC holder with excellent knowledge of the latest Transport Legislation. - Remain calm under pressure, with good activity planning and organisational skills. - Effective People Manager. - Strong H & S awareness. - A team player who is also able to work on own initiative. - Track record of keeping to service and cost commitments. - Previous managerial experience within a fast paced Transport function. - Innovative approach, forward thinking, able to generate new opportunities for improvement.
