We are seeking a Business Development Manager for a Global Freight Forwarder to work out of their Essex offices. You will need experience in Multimodal Sales (Air, Sea and Road) for a UK based Freight Forwarder. The role is about cultivating long lasting relationships, in turn delivering significant shareholder value for all. You will need to achieve new business sales targets as agreed with the UK Sales Director, through the development of new accounts and new business opportunities from existing accounts. The role requires p rospecting, customer scoping and evaluation of business fit in advance of appointment. Conducting visits, preparing proposals, responding and taking ownership of customer tenders. Attend regular customer business review meetings, prepare presentations and manage customer expectations. Maintain a good mix of opportunities in the sales pipeline and ensure that it is kept up to date and replenished with new opportunities when appropriate. You will be a confident sales professional with a comprehensive understanding of freight forwarding and the logistics market place and a minimum of five years experience in a similar role. Excellent customer facing, presentation and negotiation skills. Competent with administration and can cope with the pressures of a targeted environment. Being capable of approaching key opportunities from a consultative standpoint. The ability to negotiate at senior level and being able to interact with all buying influences. Being capable of working on your own initiative as well as being able to be part of a team.
