Our client just outside Cambridge is recruiting for an Analytical Technician to join their team initially on a 3-6month contract. This position will involve working with customers to ensure confidence in the company's ability to establish and maintain high quality laboratory processes, experimental methods and protocols. The successful candidate will have a good degree in a Science or Engineering discipline and have experience in a controlled laboratory environment as well as being familiar with working according to cGxP guidelines. You will also have experience handling drug compounds, pharmaceutical formulations and hazardous chemicals and have a good understanding of life science analytical techniques and laboratory safe working practices. Excellent team working skills are essential and you will be confident in client facing situations. A keen eye for detail and good written, verbal communication and presentation skills are also an essential part of this role. Main Responsibilities: Assisting with test planning and test method development often in a client-facing environment Writing cGMP-compliant protocols, keeping cGMP-compliant test records and generating test reports on behalf of our clients primarily in the parenteral and aerosol drug delivery arena Contributing to lab procedural documentation as well as project document generation and maintenance Advising on and implementing safe working practices in the laboratory Ensuring compliance with lab-related Health and Safety practices, SOPs and contributing to quality systems improvements Conducting Health and Safety Risk Assessments Handling potentially hazardous chemicals and pharmaceutical formulations in the laboratory in relation to client projects Keeping the laboratories in good order, recommending any improvements to layout or equipment, placing orders for any agreed new supplies or equipment Liaising with equipment suppliers, calibration providers and test-houses Providing on-the-job or procedural training to other project team members Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Essential: Good degree in a Science or Engineering discipline Experience in a controlled laboratory environment Familiarity with working according to cGxP guidelines Experience handling drug compounds, pharmaceutical formulations and hazardous chemicals Good understanding of life science analytical techniques Good understanding of laboratory safe working practices Ability to work diligently, quickly, autonomously and as part of a team Good problem-solving and deductive-thinking abilities Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills Confident in a client-facing environment Diligent worker with an eye for detail - the ability to spot and report trends and problems Desirable: Knowledge and prior experience of test method and equipment qualification Prior experience of working for / with pharmaceutical companies Good understanding of and prior experience of mechanical systems and instruments Prior experience of design development consultancy for the medical industry This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/66815075
