We are looking to recruit a Senior Supervisor for our client, a North East based automotive business. The role will be to effectively lead a cross functional team to ensure Safety, Cost, Delivery and Quality objectives are achieved. Also to manage a team of Coordinators to ensure that the business meets and exceeds its business targets. Responsibilities: Manage Quality of all products manufactured in line with customer needs as well as Achievement of ppm targets along with leading the QRQC process Ensure 5Z philosophy is understood and maintained Contribute to the achievement of QSES Ensure manufacturing documentation is up to date and reviewed within specified timescales (SOS, IPC etc) Champion the use of company Diagnostics Audit ILU system to check progress of Unit training plans Ensure operator training plan in place for all operators, maintaining the ILU system checking that the progress of unit training plans Promote the use of problem solving frameworks Implement and maintain Genba Kanri Provide daily direction to area teams. Manage - Flexed & unflexed variable & Fixed costs to achieve the business unit cost budget (VPL, VPE, FPE, FPL, Scrap, Inventory Loss). Lead the team to achieve performance targets, JPH, OEE, Efficiency, scrap etc. Lead the team in the achievement of the MTCR in house cost reduction plan. Generate kaizen improvement activity plan. Continuously identify and implement cost reduction activities Conducts VSM activities to identify NVA and establish plans to reduce Accurately forecast 3 month manufacturing costs monthly (or as required) variance analysis for business unit manufacturing costs Manage WIP and FG inventory levels to targets Effectively plan man & machine and resources to ensure customer delivery targets are achieved. Ensure backup systems in place & regularly checked. In the event of a delivery threat prepare facts and contingency plans and liaise with the customer Coordinate new project introductions Ensure all planned maintenance activities are completed on time. PLM/Systems//Daily Checks Perform Safety Patrols as well as leading the QRSC activity Manage corrective actions to closure via a team based safety review Monitor Risk Assessment and PUWER status. Ensure departmental compliance to ISO 14001 standard. Ensure the accident and incident procedure is fully adhered to and timely reporting on RIVO system Ensure adequate PPE and accident equipment is available. Provide guidance to business unit technical support teams. Ensure that performance monitors and fact files exist for all staff summarising monthly and quarterly performance against attendance, safety and housekeeping, quality of work, flexibility, Job Knowledge, and general attitude. Carry out disciplinary hearings (up to final written warning) Complete development plans for all direct reports Carry out recruitment and selection of staff Ensure accurate recording & control of absence Manage compliance to people management policies and procedures Person Specifications: Be trained to minimum HNC, Technical Degree preferred Be able to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills Have significant Automotive Manufacturing Experience Have significant years within a supervisory role Have experience with production manufacturing, maintenance or quality advantageous Be Lean Manufacturing trained and has implemented improvement programs in previous roles Have experience in the use of problem solving skills, six Sigma, 5 why's, 8D etc. Encourage and participate in effective team working Have report writing and presentation skills.
