. The Business Analyst coordinates new and existing development efforts for various technology projects throughout the Firm. Assists the Development Managers and Supervisors in the design, development, modification and/or maintenance of systems software. The Business Analyst will be expected to carry out the following essential duties and responsibilities: •Coordinates projects and helps create software systems to solve problems. •May adapt, combine, and/or improve existing products, processes, and programs. •Assists with building new applications and monitoring existing ones. •Updates, modifies, tests, and/or repairs existing software systems and proposes innovative solutions. •Provides functional and technical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software systems. •Participates in the development of test strategies, tools, and systems. •Maintains and monitors reporting security for the Firm. •May work with Develop Managers and Supervisors to create and implement project specifications/plans. •Maintains a project list for the Development group. Keeps all project deadlines organized. •Performs front-line support for Firm websites. •Maintains access to and reviews the contents of various web sites. •Acts as project lead for large scale development projects. •Acts as liaison between the Development group, Attorneys, and Firm management. •Coordinates with other areas / departments of the firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures / communications to stream-line processes and satisfy various department needs. •Assists with projects on various issues when needed. •Promotes effective work practices, works as a team member, and shows respect for co-workers. The successful Business Analyst will have the following: •Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering, Management or related field preferred. •Technical certifications in related area a plus. •A sound amount of experience leading development projects in related areas is desired. •Practical problem solving skills and solid trouble shooting skills. •Strong ability to perceive and analyze problems and develop alternative strategies to solve them. •Knowledge of basic accounting principals. •Well developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm. •Ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus. •Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. •Organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines. •Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion. •Knowledge and proficiency of PC applications, including MS Office.
