Our Cambridge based client is looking for a Microbiology Research Technician to join their team. We're looking for someone with at least a couple of years' experience working in a Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related Biological Science lab. What You'll Be Doing: You'll prepare, store and manage bacterial and viral stocks QC checks of biological stocks Time-kill exposure experiments in line with methods and standards Read plates, confirm and validate analytical results Follow procedures for all aspects of lab work and make sure that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, samples are handled correctly and that all data is maintained Report and/or calculate results in accordance with the methods of analysis You'll work with the team and help drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement What We're Looking For: You'll have knowledge and experience of working in busy commercial microbiology laboratory, ideally a CRO, clinical microbiology, food microbiology, water and environmental testing or R&D labs Extensive hands on experience of working with a wide range of bacterial pathogens in a category 2 laboratory Extensive experience of TVC assays, preparation, storage and management of bacterial stocks and media preparation would be a bonus Experience of working with bacteriophage including isolations, plaque assay, lysate preparation, DNA isolations and simple characterisations would be a plus, but not essential as full in-house training will be provided cience lab.
