SQL/SSIS Developer Manchester City Centre (behind Victoria station) Competitive Salary based on experience excellent benefits Job Purpose To manage the development and integration services of our company SQL Server databases, ensuring that best practices are used throughout. Job Overview The successful candidate will lead the SQL development on our day to day software development projects. This will involve managing multiple databases and the ETL process of transferring data between databases. The optimum solution must always be considered to guarantee robust systems. The candidate will be a key member of the Development team, working closely with other software developers, mentoring them when necessary, as well as working with DBAs, the MI team and updating Stakeholders in the business on progress. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Working with SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2, 2012, 2014 for managing development on the software projects Building data transformations with SSIS, transferring data from one database system to another Collaborating with business analysts, subject matter experts, and other team members to determine data extraction and transformation requirements Working with DBAs on physical database design and modelling Following data standards, resolving data issues, completing unit testing and system documentation for Extract Transfer Load (ETL) processes Helping prepare and run unit, integration, UAT, regression, stress and performance plan documents and tests while documenting results Mentoring of software developers when required, on best practices for SQL development What you Bring to the Team Qualified to degree level in Computer Science or related qualification IT Industry experience in SQL development - 3 year's minimum Extensive knowledge of SQL Server management using SSMS 2008, 2012, 2014 Experience in SQL programming. Writing Stored procedures, functions, views Data integration and ETL experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Experience in designing and developing ETL processes including naming conventions, connection to variety of systems and processing of large volumes Experience in identifying and mapping data elements across multiple systems including creating templates and best practices to maintain mapping information Knowledge of RedGate tools or similar, for source control, SQLcompare, etc Why Join our Team?
