As a BI Designer your primary responsibilities will be the technical and fu nctional design of business intelligence solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that designs are fit for purpose, are in line with strategic technology and data. The role requires a broad business perspective and the ability to work independently. Willingness to step into multiple roles and take the initiative will be highly valued. Your key responsibilities will be to: Work with the business and business analysts to understand and analyse requirements and design fit for purpose BI solutions; Create data models and high level designs for ETL, data integration and analytics/reporting; Work with development teams/managers to produce estimates of effort needed to build the produced designs; Contribute to assessing current data/technical architecture; and Interface and work closely with development teams for the delivery of the designs. To be successful in this role you will have: Solid BI design experience or be an exceptional senior developer/analyst looking to progress to BI Design; Solid experience and working knowledge of Data Warehousing (incl Dimensional modelling) ideally working with Informatica business intelligence tools; Strong analytical skills and the ability to present and communicate solutions and recommendations to senior levels; and Excellent team work and commitment to delivering quality work on time and with multiple, competing priorities. In addition: Exposure and knowledge of Agile BI, Analytics, business scorecards and management dashboards a distinct advantage as well as exposure/proficiency in technologies like QlikView, and BusinessObjects. Professional qualifications such as Six Sigma, Prince 2 etc or graduate calibre are desirable, as well as working knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislator framework, life and pensions projects/markets.
