Job Title: Functional Skills Support Tutor Excellent Opportunity for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor/Assessor within the Engineering and Manufacturing Sectioroor. CRB Check Needed? Yes Department: Operations Location: Northeast Main Purpose: To provide professional quality training and assessment for apprenticeship learners. To deliver and assess the functional Maths, English and ICT in accordance with the awarding body and the national occupational standards. Reports to: Operations Director Number of direct reports: 0 Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver Functional Skills, Maths, English & ICT as part of the apprenticeship frameworks to the agreed schedule and standards Deliver Functional Skills workshops in Maths and English as part of a Pre Employment Training Programme to the agreed schedule and standards To provide support to trainers and assessors who require assistance with or need to develop their key/functional skills delivery Coach and mentor learners to enable them to achieve their full potential Deliver Learner exams, tests and assignments in line with the agreed processes Manage the effective use of revision applications and methods to enable the Learners to succeed Manage all Leaner work, ensure work is assessed and submitted within agreed timeframes and ensure learner file naming conventions and storage processes are followed Regularly feedback progress to Functional Skills Co-ordinator and line manager, on course, learners, facilities and any areas which may affect the learners ability to succeed Accurately complete and maintain funding documentation Responsible for duty of care of learners assigned within caseload Plan and develop new learning materials Carry out diagnostic assessment for learners with potential literacy and numeracy needs and devise a work-based learning plan in liaison with the employer and other area staff And in addition: i. To comply with policies and procedures. ii. To do all that is reasonably practicable to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, taking in to account appropriate risk assessments and ensuring compliance and statutory requirements. iii. To undertake any such duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms, following consultation with the recognised trade unions. iiii. Extensive travel will be involved in the role. Subject to the duration of the need, the special conditions given below apply: The nature of the work may involve the post holder carrying out work outside of normal working hours. The post holder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service. Expenses will be paid in accordance with Conditions of Service. This post is subject to a check being carried out at an ENHANCED level by the Criminal Records Bureau regarding any previous criminal record. Scope/Scale: Working with a caseload of up to 100 learners, ensuring all achieve within the targeted timeframes.
