Posted by: Kitty Lang Job title: Engineering Manager Location: Coleraine Salary: Competitive benefits Job Reference: KL-2708 Overview The Engineering Manager will organise and manage labour and resources, including engineering skills to maintain and improve all factory machinery within the agreed budget. They will also be responsible for the PPM implementation on site. The role: Manage the engineering function, directly managing a maintenance planner and being the subject matter expert. Ensures that equipment and processes are operated to and maintained within their safe design operating limits in a way that avoids danger. Work in close collaboration with the production manager Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and installing capital equipment Have a strong emphasis on HSE and Quality Responsible for site engineering activities including capital planning, capital project identification, process optimisation, energy management, delivery of the maintenance asset care program and all maintenance works on site. Support the engineering team and apply technical skills and ingenuity to the permanent correction of issues Responsible for developing the site Engineering budget for approval and managing site engineering budget costs to meet the approved engineering budget targets. Identifies and assesses the Criticality of plant, equipment and systems on a regular basis and adjusts the site engineering strategy to ensure an efficient and effective Plant and department operation. Manages and implements the spare parts holding policy for the site ensuring the optimum stock holding. To succeed in this challenging, people focused business, you will: Degree Process, Manufacturing, Engineering or related processed based engineering. Extensive experience in a large scale process industry (food preferable). Excellent communication and interpersonal Skills. Strong leadership skills. Ability to apply engineering principles in practical application. Team leadership and development. Strong business knowledge and ability to interface with manufacturing organisation. Possesses good knowledge and experience in recent: Food related automation/process control technology advances/ equipment design & applications Asset care techniques and technology applications Energy management techniques & principles Process engineering techniques Project management techniques & principles Procurement /Budget management Regulatory Compliance; Food safety compliance; Industrial Services/Utilities; Water Treatment; Waste Water Treatment; Refrigeration; Compressed Air; Boilers; Steam systems Team building/leadership Negotiations – change management Excellent organisation skills Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to coach and develop others The Business: My client is an ambient food manufacturer, highly regarded in their field who manufacture both branded and own-branded food items.
