A SQL / Oracle DBA opportunity in Liverpool, paying between £45,000 & £50,000 Excellent benefits Your new company This leading distribution company in the UK are undergoing a major IT systems transformation, and are one of the largest IT employers in the North West. Your new role You will be working within a team using database management system software and tools administering database servers which include SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL and Informix. Although the organisation use all 4 servers, the role will mainly be SQL Server database administration focused however you will support other databases out of hours so a basic understanding is required. As a database administrator you will have knowledge of logical database schema, to investigate problems and collect performance statistics and create reports. You will also carry out routine configuration / installation and reconfiguration of database and related products. Pro-active Monitoring of Databases to identify issues before they cause incidents. You will ensure database tasks are preformed (backups, restores, index rebuild) and will operate on-call 24/7 support outside normal working hours. What you'll need to succeed You will have recent extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server including versions 2008 onwards. You will have a basic understanding of Oracle 11g and 12c databases. Other desirable experience includes Windows and Unix OS, PowerShell and Unix subscriptions, and Performance monitoring and analysis of SQL Server (Idera, Oracle OEM).
