Insight Manager Manchester £35,000 - £45,000 The role carries two broad responsibilities; firstly to drive improvements in customer performance for their products and secondly to drive client engagement, retention and revenue through improved management information (MI) reporting. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Customer performance Improve customer performance by developing assessment “best practice” proposals including: the use of relevant analytical techniques to identify trends with a measurable impact on results. analysis of data to identify trends and drive improvements through use of best practice analysis of product purchase and data to identify the key product combinations delivering the highest success rates. analysis of other relevant data to identify retention risk flags. Support the product design decision making process with relevant insight. Improve personalisation through detailed reporting and usage of resources and performance. Develop behavioural analytics incorporating usage of online resources (total usage, time spent using, level of completeness etc); online engagement data; and motivation data to deliver powerful segmentations which allow the business to personalise products to customers Help the product board and technology teams prioritise activity and investment. Leverage currently under-utilised existing data sources. Develop and maintain a metrics scorecard monitoring the link between effort and impact on results. Provide required learning quality reporting back to the US as part of quarterly performance management metrics and on an ad hoc basis as requested. Contribute to the development of data capabilities for the new Learning Management System (LMS). Supporting client engagement & retention Protect, defend and gain market share through the development and delivery of improved reporting and MI for clients including: Working with Business Development teams and Key Client teams to develop proactive reporting solutions (format, frequency etc) for key clients, including client specific cohort performance reporting and the desired output i.e. via client portals or a separate report to be discussed and delivered face to face. Developing MI that provides valuable customer progress insight and intervention opportunities Provision of meaningful trends and benchmarking information e.g. season on season, past few years, geographical variances, learning channels, papers Developing standardised self-service cohort reporting for non key client businesses. Support business development teams in writing client pitch documents by supplying ad hoc cohort performance reports. Work with key stakeholders (IT, Product, Business Development) to inform requirements for client portals as a delivery method/client interface for some of the reporting. Manage the position of Client reporting Analyst (fixed term contract) to develop client facing front ends to key client reporting and internal reports. PERSON SPECIFICATION Educated to degree level in a numerical discipline. Excellent analytical and numerical skills, preferably in a marketing, measurement or learning background. Highly competent in at least one of the following analytical areas: Data Analysis: SAS, SQL or equivalent. Statistical Modelling: SAS Enterprise Miner, SPSS, KXEN or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 3-5 years experience working in a customer insight team in a large, data rich industry. Experience of driving commercial decision-making through the generation and application of customer insights. Highly competent in MS Office particularly Microsoft Excel. Well developed problem solving ability with a proven track record. Accurate, persistent with excellent attention to detail. Self motivated, resilient and proactive individual with the drive to succeed. Established track record of implementing multiple projects working with multi-disciplinary teams.
