JFD delivers world-class subsea engineering projects, products and services to commercial and naval customers worldwide. Job Purpose: Provide Naval Architect support to the India DSRV Project. Roles and Responsibilities: Run the book on Trim and Stability for the Indian SRVs; including: Weight and Buoyancy prediction, measurement and control Compilation of Lloyd’s Register Trim and Stability submission All supporting calculations and Paramarine modelling Planning and conduct of inclining experiments / payload checks during trials. Responsibility for the VOO / MOSHIP Interface for the Indian SRS, including: Oversight of subcontractor deck interface arrangements Ownership and updates to VOO Specification Development of Mobilisation Manuals and development of supporting calculations and tools Naval Architect for mobilisation during trials of Systems 1 and 2. Responsibility for the Road and Air Transport documentation, including: Oversight of subcontractor Road and Air Transport arrangements Ownership and updates to Road and Air Transport documentation/manuals Support to Road and Air Transport trials for Systems 1 and 2. Direct Reports/Team: Has a functional link into the JFD Engineering department. Required Skills, Competences and Qualifications: Project-based experience in marine engineering / diving role Relevant degree qualification in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture 5 years minimum experience in a similar role Specific experience in the mobilisation of offshore equipment, and submarine / submersible trim and stability work Experience with Defence/ Military contracts Willing to travel Personal communication skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organisation Ability to work on your own and to specified timescales and project plans Time management and ability to deliver to prioritised deadlines Proactive approach to role James Fisher & Sons PLC and all subsidiary businesses are committed to creating a diverse workforce and are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
