Lavendon Group is seeking an IT Product Manager reporting to the Chief Information Officer you will provide hands-on leadership of digital product development and management across the group, working closely with business units, IT and project. Responsible for digital products and services across the life cycle, from initiation to introduction, growth and extension, and retirement. This role will manage the current digital product portfolio and plan the product roadmap. To liaise with product owners, senior management and other stakeholders in order to facilitate understanding and take-up of digital product management thinking and activity. To lead and manage a small team of web specialists, and to mentor and guide product owners. Key duties include: Delivery, management, prioritisation and assessment of the organisation’s digital roadmap. To take responsibility for product positioning in order to support the achievement of the business objectives set. Develop and apply appropriate processes and procedures for managing the product portfolio, including managing product roadmaps at both a portfolio and brand level. Control the product proposition for each product and ensure this is accurately and effectively communicated internally and externally. To generate new product ideas, develop business cases, and analytically process ideas originating from across the business. To evaluate opportunities for development based on customer requirements. To manage the timely launch of new products & product features through personal actions and driving the activity of virtual teams. To support the CIO in driving the digital strategy of the business. Overall control of functional/area budgets, and ancillary costs involved in projects. Represent product management within the IT SMT. Responsible for managing digital marketing executive, including strategy-setting, monitoring paid and organic campaigns, guiding and mentoring the group and individual business unit marketing teams. Monitor external competitor and market activity, including adjacent markets, to ensure that Lavendon and its group companies are at the forefront of digital transformation in its sectors and geographies. Able to rapidly build a very good understanding of the economics and dynamics of Lavendon’s business of equipment rental, and its customer base. Product evangelist with the vision and skills to define and drive the product strategy, and engage the business and customers. As the IT Product Manager you will have/be: Degree-qualified digital product management professional with a proven track record of achievement at a management level. Extensive experience of implementing product roadmaps for e-commerce and other digital transformation. In-depth understanding of digital technologies and web platforms, with the technical credibility to command respect from architects and engineers. Experience of establishing a digital product function within an established business. Experience of assisting the business understand and manage the agile product owner role, and coaching product owners to work effectively. Major personal contribution to the delivery of large scale projects. Strong influencing skills – able to get the job done without line authority Good communication skills - able to communicate complex technical issues simply Organised and coordinated –understands how to coordinate different functions/teams to get things done Detailed and analytical – develops an in-depth expertise of owned products and how they are delivered through the functions of the business A track record of success in the delivery of projects and programmes to time, scope and cost. Experience of financial forecasting and budgetary control Experience of researching and managing 3rd party suppliers Highly literate, with strong written and verbal English language, spelling and grammar. Highly proficient in the use of technical tools such as GA, Webmaster tools, wireframing, analytics. Building and embedding a strong product culture of continuous and rapid testing and learning, innovation and collaboration. Excellent management skills with demonstrable ability to set up and develop high performing teams of specialists. Excellent stakeholder management, able to manage diverse stakeholder expectations at senior levels. Excellent facilitation skills, able to work with groups at all levels of the business and develop a common view of business requirements and solutions. Excellent analytical skills, being comfortable working with data and the use of data for decision-making. Excellent influencing, negotiation and facilitation skills Excellent written and oral communication skills with stakeholders at a variety of levels through to group executive team, including 3rd parties and IT technical teams.
