PSL Assistant, Manchester The Team We are looking for a PSL Assistant/Paralegal to join us on a permanent basis in our Manchester office. Located within the Finance & Projects Division, our Banking Group is a national team with significant resource in each of our offices in London, Leeds and Manchester. We also support the banking teams in our international offices. The Group acts for a wide variety of banks and financial institutions. We also act for some of the Firm's corporate and property borrower clients. The Group as a whole has significant capability in corporate banking (including leveraged finance), social housing, real estate finance, asset based lending and asset finance. This Assistant role sits within the Professional Support Lawyer team for Banking. What we are looking for We would like to recruit an individual to work closely with the Group's Professional Support Lawyers (PSLs). Our PSLs support the Banking Group by providing training, drafting/maintaining precedents, providing legal and market updates, answering transactional and technical queries and contributing to firm wide knowledge management projects and this role will support their work. Whilst not exhaustive, responsibilities include: ¢ Conducting research on relevant legal updates, cases and articles ¢ Precedent and know-how developerment ¢ Editing and managing the Firm's know-how sections on the Intranet, ensuring it is up to date and relevant at all times ¢ Working with the PSLs to arrange training and know how sessions for the Banking team ¢ Attending various training and networking events alongside the PSL team ¢ Updating and maintaining databases, spreadsheets and mailing lists ¢ Analysing and summarising know how information as and when required ¢ Ensuring all precedents and documents are proof read, amended and formatted correctly ¢ Assisting with client specific policies and documentation ¢ Comprehensive document management support Knowledge, skills and experience required: Ideally, you will have: ¢ Good academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree, ideally with a Law degree, CPE or LPC qualification ¢ An interest in Banking and Finance law would be desirable, though not essential ¢ Looking for a mid-long term future in knowledge and support ¢ Experience of working in a paralegal type role or similar ¢ Strong IT, communication and administrative skills This job was originally posted as
