Our Client is a multi sector speciality distributor of raw materials and chemicals to the UK Manufacturing Industry. They are now seeking a Business Development Manager – Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Ingredients . This position will be home based and location within the UK is flexible. It is a full-time permanent role. Job Purpose · To develop and grow sales of specialty products into the Pharma & Cosmetics markets and manage the key suppliers relationships. · To develop short term and future pipelines for specialty products supporting the relevant suppliers’ strategies. · Delivery of budgeted gross margin, volume and sales turnover for the appropriate region. Key Responsibilities · Develop and deliver sales, volume and margin budgets plus business sector marketing plans for the specified portfolio of products, customers and industries. · Manage relationships with key suppliers into the market · Development of technical pipeline with short, medium and long term opportunities through contact with buyers and technical personnel at customers. · Ensure that relevant emphasis is paid to key development products and suppliers and that activity is aligned with key supplier strategies. · Compile, Manage and present pipeline developments to key principals and to deliver new products & applications to market and sales colleagues after appropriate training by the supplier. · To provide credibility in the market sector through technical and product application knowledge, as well as market sector experience. · Support account management colleagues to access new customers and grow business at existing customers through new product approvals. · To provide market feedback as appropriate on competitor activity, portfolio gaps and market dynamics. · To develop an effective level of co-operation with all company and third party staff. Qualifications and Experience · BSc (or equivalent) in a scientific subject · SCS Diploma is desirable · Strong technical sales background with previous experience of selling speciality chemicals to customers in the cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical market sector · Knowledge of silicones and preservatives is particularly desirable · Good communication and negotiation skills · Excellent planning and organisational skills · High attention to detail · Flexible and can-do attitude · Full British Driving Licence (held for minimum of 12 months) In return, our Client is offering a competitive basic salary plus car, bonus and benefits.
