Continuous Improvement Engineer Permanent Sheffield Upto £33k depending upon experience and qualifications Plus excellent benefits including 33 days holiday, pension scheme, life assurance and private healthcare The Client: An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Continuous Improvement Engineer to join this very successful, secure and growing business in the Sheffield area. We have worked with this global company, with almost 300 employees for over 10 years, supplying various skilled and talented individuals. This is a fantastic opportunity. Job: As a Continuous Improvement Engineer you will be based in Sheffield but depending on projects you could spend up to 2 days per week at the company’s other UK site in Wales. Some overseas travel may also be required from time to time. The main duties will include; Working closely with team mangers to identify opportunities for improvement utilising a variety of tools such as VSM and KPI’s. You will forge working partnerships with your colleagues in Manufacturing, Purchasing and Sales to ensure that projects for Improvement are managed effectively and delivered on time. You will apply and train Lean Manufacturing principles such as Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5’s, 5 Why’s and visual management. Gather and analyse accurate information to facilitate change from concept through feasibility to implementation. Criteria: The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of change and process improvement within a similar role preferably within a manufacturing business. A degree in an engineering principle is essential. A recognized qualification in implementing Lean / 6 Sigma would be advantageous however is not essential if you can demonstrate your experience. You should have excellent communication and problem solving skills to ensure that you can effectively manage multiple projects successfully. An awareness of H&S is essential. Excellent IT skills including ERP and data analysis skills and experience. A UK or equivalent driving license is also essential as is the flexibility for work related travel.
