UK Subsidiary of Global Speciality Chemicals Group Opportunity for a world-class CI Specialist with a process industry background to deliver change Permanent, Full time North West/M62 Corridor Base Salary up to £60,000, 10% bonus & broad ranging benefits including pension & healthcare This key change management role is with the UK subsidiary of a leading multi-site international chemicals group and forms part of the senior leadership team on their UK site. It manufactures a broad range of high margin, niche application speciality chemicals. It has a reputation for its high quality products and is a leader in new product development and innovation. The site has had the benefit of significant capital investment in recent years, is performing strongly within the Group and operates on a 24/7 continental shift pattern. It is run as a standalone P&L business unit supplying many different markets. This role reports to the Site Manager and its focus is to lead the continuous improvement programme and achieve measureable and sustained improvements through the development and deployment of modern continuous improvement tools and techniques. You will contribute to site targets and be the CI champion for the site both internally within the Group and externally. As the site is performing well and highly regarded in the Group the challenge in this role is to drive and develop a continuous improvement culture forward on the basis of a “good to great” scenario and ensure that this is maintained and embedded on a long term basis. Considerable scope will be offered for you to impact upon the business. The successful candidate will need high quality credentials and world-class CI experience. You will be graduate qualified with a good quality chemical engineering or technical degree and have developed your career in process industry environments which operate on a batch and continuous basis and in which the use of modern tools and techniques, lean methodologies and 6 Sigma are strongly featured. Specific sectors of interest to the client include chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, food processing or raw materials processing. The ideal candidate will have progressed their career through engineering into operations and then into continuous improvement change management leadership roles and they will also be Black Belt qualified or equivalent through experience. You will need to be able to demonstrate clear evidence of success in delivering CI programmes and a key element of the role is focused on the communications and leadership aspects for which gravitas, motivational and coaching skills are essential for success.
