Transport Manager £25.000-£30.000 My client based in Iver is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to join their team immediately. The primary function of this role is to ensure that the Company, and the drivers under its control, meets its legal responsibilities and liabilities for compliance with the conditions laid down by the Traffic Commissioner, Road Traffic Law and the Working Time Directive. You need to have an International CPC Holder in Road Haulage Operations and at least 2 years' experience in Road Transport Operations. Key Skills: To be ensure that the Company complies with all Traffic Commissioner undertakings To operate an effective system of monitoring drivers' hours and working time and to take action against drivers with infringements, escalating disciplinary measures for repeat offenders (including agency drivers) Ensure preventative maintenance inspections are carried out at agreed intervals and that maintenance records are in good order and kept for 15 months. Key Responsibilities: To implement systems and procedures that ensures compliance. In particular, to maintain an effective disciplinary system for drivers that ensures that they observe EU Drivers Hours rules plus a process of escalating action for repeated non-compliance Monitoring of driver's hours and analysis of tachograph record sheets Responsible for ensuring that drivers complete their paperwork correctly with regard to filling out their tachograph record sheets/correct use of digi-cards/completion of working time forms/prompt and correct completion of accident reports/agency driver declarations/driver defect reports and other relevant paperwork To implement systems, policies and procedures that ensure continued compliance with the Traffic Commissioner's Operator Licensing undertakings, Drivers Hours Rules and the Working Time Directive To ensure that vehicles conform to Construction & Use requirements To ensure Working Time is monitored and records are kept in line with relevant legislation so that drivers do not exceed an average of 48 hours in each reference period Continually keep abreast of legal changes and advise the Company accordingly Ensure Driver's Handbook is kept updated and relevant To be commercially aware at all times and able to offer suggestions and solutions to meet contractual demands without compromising road safety or legal responsibilities Contact Joanna to know more about this role on jo.bialeckapeterknightrecruitment This job was originally posted as
