Applicants are invited to apply for the Project Director vacancy, reporting in to the Chief Operating Officer. This role is Southern (UK) based and travel will be required in this role. Role Purpose : To work as a part of a small team, focused on delivering business solutions in line with the Group's strategic plan. To lead and support capital projects from concept to delivery, managing the project portfolio and delivering the most effective and efficient solutions in terms of quality, time and cost. The Project Director role will include the following responsibilities: -Lead an internal team of Project Managers and an external project management provision when required, ensuring the timely delivery of projects in accordance with statutory legislation and mandatory company standards -Drive excellent performance in Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, ensuring the highest standards are upheld across all projects -Manage change control of all projects to ensure business needs are balanced within project constraints; time, cost and full life overview -Ensure project core teams are formed and work with project sponsors to facilitate effective engagement of all stakeholders, in the development and delivery of a project -Manage the lifecycle of all projects through feasibility, approval, design, construction, completion, commissioning, handover and post project review -Work closely with the Project Directors for Mersey and Clydeport to maintain a cohesive approach to Group wide projects, evaluating new concepts, establishing feasibility and developing options for business consideration Applicants interested in the Project Director Role should ideally possess the following skills and experience: -Prior experience of leading people and managing multiple projects, in an engineering or related environment -Degree qualified in a relevant subject such as Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification -Prince2 project management experience or equivalent -Demands will require the individual to have an inherent ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks, projects and change in a fast moving operational environment -Strong commercial acumen with previous experience of complex commercial negotiations and construction projects -Proven experience of taking projects from 'concept to completion'; including project feasibility, cost analysis and compiling of a business case for Board consideration -Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including MS Project, Excel and Powerpoint -A full UK valid Driving Licence In return you will receive: -Competitive Salary -Car Allowance -Excellent Holiday entitlement -Generous Flexible Benefits Package -Company Pension with matching contributions of up to 10% This job was originally posted as
