Value Engineer - Manufacturing - £350/day Location: Midlands Based (with travel) Salary: £350 day rate Job Type: Contract A government backed consultancy requires a Value Engineer with a manufacturing background to help transformation amongst high end manufacturing clients. You will be working with blue chip and SME clients with expertise across the entirety of the manufacturing space. This company is engaging with clients in order to get the UK manufacturing sector up to speed, pre-empting the forecasted demands set to hit in the next 5-10 years. You will be working with upwards of 60 clients, with the day-to-day assessing Procurement, Supply Chain and Manufacturing through the eyes of a value engineer. Responsibilities of a Value Engineer: Develop and train employees at all levels within the clients company so that you can successfully implement long term cost models Find, assess and amend existing cost models, in order to utilise them within the clients business, allowing them to both expand and save money Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders to create innovative and bespoke cost models Use your knowledge of cost modelling and manufacturing to benefit both the clients and other consultants to keep the level of service provided at the highest quality Skills and Qualifications of a Value Engineer: Proven effectiveness in cost reduction within the manufacturing space Complex manufacturing background, experience within fabrication and/or tooling Evidence of the development and implementation of cost models, and betterment of costing efficiency across the supplier base Strong relationship building skill, including gravitas, in order to influence stakeholders from the shop floor to c-suite employees This role will provide you with the opportunity to make an impact from the outset across clients of all levels. It is an initial 12 month contract with the possibility to extend for the foreseeable future.
