They are based in Northampton but commutable from Milton Keynes , Bedford, Rugby and Leicester and seek an IT Buyer to lead the procurement of IT products and services, overseeing the provision of best practice procurement and commercial support, providing advice on a timely basis and ensuring that procurement value is derived.£ competitive plus 15% bonus bens The role we're recruiting for… We are currently seeking a highly experienced, technically minded, IT procurement specialist for our rapidly expanding IT Department. As an IT Buyer you will be utilising your knowledge of best practice procurement experience to lead the sourcing of appropriate IT products and services to be used not only within the IT Department, but across the 21 businesses within the Group. In addition, you will be working alongside the IT Procurement Manager to strategically expand, preserve and improve the sourcing procedures, standards, and policies currently in place. Knowledge and demonstration of category management as relates to the IT spend is also a key requirement of the role. It would be great if you had… This role will have substantial responsibilities, including (but not limited to) the following; Identify, initiate and deliver cost saving initiatives against agreed financial targets Utilise procurement process including RFI/RFQ's; Contribute effective procurement consultancy advice and assistance to both IT and the business Ensure contractual obligations are adhered to Proactively identify and effectively manage business risks Negotiate terms & conditions and pricing in conjunction with legal support Role requirements: Higher education in a business related field Experience in a previous IT procurement role Experience of best practice procurement and contract management processes Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships What can we offer you?
