We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior IT Systems Engineer to join our Customer Operations Team. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Ability to QA equipment and test to ensure all equipment going out and being returned isup to required specification, following procedures to ensure it is done correctly and to HRS high standards Understanding of cabling or ability to pick up cabling requirements so that testing can occur within the office of kit Ability to follow instructions on configuring biometric devices Take ownership of MSite PC Image to ensure it is kept up to date for security, operational and improvement purposes Understand the HRS MSite Software so that you can setup and configure the system for our customers' requirements Utilise SQL to update and edit tables so that the systems are configured to operational needs Follow sign off processes to show key steps are achieved Record serial/asset numbers of kit used for installations and as part of QA check on returned items to support HRS asset tracking The workshop area of the office will need to be kept tidy and organised During installations phone and remote support will be required to help troubleshoot on installations Due to understanding and knowledge of the systems and sites which will be developed you will work with the customer services team to help on customer issues HRS are always looking at ways to improve performance and quality so ideas and actions to make the build process quicker and more efficient will be an ongoing task as well as making changes to the build kit and configuration based on operational requirements or customer service analysis of issues The ideal candidate: Will have an Electronics GCSE or an equivalent City & Guilds qualification. It would be desirable for applicants to hold a Comp TIA A or equivalent. Enthusiasm for understanding and tinkering with electronics and IT systems Experience managing/maintaining windows operating systems Basic understanding of cabling requirements (data and power) Basic network topology and data communication principles (e.g. 3G / Wireless Communications) Knowledge of serial communication principles Takes real pride in all work Excellent communication skills when liaising with colleagues and customers Problem solving with methodical thinking capabilities Self-motivated, friendly and professional with a patient approach Excellent work ethic This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded IT enthusiast to join a company on the bleeding edge of biometric technology If you think you're the right person with the right skills, get in touch for the right place to start your new career in a company at the top of its game.
