An exciting opportunity to join a market leader in the manufacturing of window, door, solid roof and conservatory products, Conservatory Outlet is recruiting an Operation/Logistics Manager to be responsible for the day to day management of the Production and Logistics functions, ensuring that the operating systems, people and procedures deliver a quality product in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner. Role & Responsibilities To be responsible for the day to day management of operations (manufacturing and logistics), providing strong leadership and direction to ensure a smooth, efficient transition of product between production, warehouse, transport and the customer; To be responsible for the company Vehicle Operator license, supervising drivers, providing managerial support and ensuring legal compliance; To develop operating systems, people and procedures to deliver a quality product in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner; To be responsible for maintaining the quality of products and services to new and existing customer and dealers and providing an efficient and optimised route for products to customer; To establish and maintain clear measurement, forecasting and reporting systems and processes to allow the focus on the right business issues; To develop and implement CI tools and techniques that support the continuing ISO certification, H&S Legislation and industry relevant standards; To challenge existing processes on an on-going basis, and implement processes that improve the efficiencies and operations of the manufacturing and logistics to enhance customer experience and reduce customer queries. Person Specification: CPC qualified with 5 years’ experience of working as a Logistics Manager would be advantageous; A minimum of 5 years' experience and success of running, developing and growing operational functions within Logistics and Manufacturing in a fast paced manufacturing facility producing sales in excess of £20m; A- level/HND/Degree qualified or equivalent with lean manufacturing, 5S or 6 sigma skills; Experience of Health and Safety management, People management and Financial management; The ability to focus, prioritise and multitask across both operational and logistical areas in a time pressured fast paced environment; Strong management skills, with a robust and determined approach to implementing business improvements; Highly developed oral, written and presentational communication; Strong project management skills with the proven ability to deliver projects to meet timescales and expectations; Sound working knowledge of processing and planning to meet the needs of the business Strong problem solving skills with the ability to undertake root problem solving Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to plan project activities optimising the use of limited resources An excellent communicator with strong influencing and networking skills and the proven ability to communicate plans, timelines and priorities; Strong negotiating skills with the ability to negotiate for resources; The ability to ensure processes are adhered to and results are delivered and measured in a timely and effective manner Excellent product knowledge with the ability to keep up to date with developments within the industry with technical capability and the understanding of theory of manufacturing processes Excellent team management skills with an inclusive management style and the ability to motivate coach and mentor the team and measure team performance.
