Systems Administrator - Unix, Linux, GMC, Apache, Tomcat - Permanent - Tewkesbury - Competitive salary dependent on experience My global communications management client is looking for a Systems Administrator with Unix and/or Linux server administration skills. You will provide support to their new GMC (communications management software) infrastructure. The successful candidate will also gain the opportunity of learning the GMC tools and potentially GMC development in the future. Although desirable no experience of GMC is required. Unix/Linux experience is essential. JOB PURPOSE To support the GMC platform in all its environments. To ensure that the GMC platform processes are efficient and all issues are resolved promptly. To deliver maintainable, quality software with appropriate documentation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To own and resolve customers' related live incidents, problems and changes within agreed timescales. Assist with GMC development and provide expertise with GMC Inspire. Part of a team responsible for maintaining a client facing portal. Ensure the client facing portal is available during customer working hours. Identify areas for improvement to live standards and processes as well as the platform itself. Follow evolving development standards to deliver BAU and projects. Analyse, specify, document, produce and deliver enhancements and live fixes to the platform. Ensure accurate and timely recording of time spent to allow accurate monitoring and charging to be completed. Provide internal support to other areas of the business as required. Out of hours or on call support on a rota basis (paid). SKILLS Required: Linux or Unix Strong analysis skills Ability to work with data and interpret results with good attention to detail. Excellent team player also able to work under own initiative. Strong organisational and effective time management skills. Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt style to the relevant audience. Excellent problem solver able to think outside of the box. Desired: GMC Inspire development skills (recommended 2 years experience): Designer, Automation, Interactive. Understanding of technologies e.g. Apache, DB2 commands, vi editor, Linux, Groovy, Java, C++, Tomcat. Apply knowledge and experience in various business environments. Understanding of the concept of DR and provide support when required. Understanding of the Company procedures and processes.
