My multi award winning client is presently experiencing significant growth and are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Merchandiser, to manage stock control and production critical paths. You will be joining a small operations team in North Northamptonshire where this new role provides a wonderful opportunity for someone with ambition to grow and develop and be part of a very exciting dynamic organisation. Providing support to the Operations Manager and Product Developer and Fabric Technologist, your main responsibilities will be to assist in the smooth operation of the logistics function by ensuring warehouse stock accuracy, maintenance of product information, including storage and system parameters. Additionally, this role is to assist the production area in terms of critical path management, supplier compliance and product quality working alongside their global suppliers. The successful applicant will have previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of basic stores functions and stock control disciplines. Responsibilities · Manage the critical path, ensuring its updated regularly and coordination of all members of the team to ensure that all dates are met with the target to achieve on time deliveries. · Reviewing stock levels and identifying potential stock outs, updating working stock sheets with current information daily or as required · Analyse stock movements & identify trends and research and reconcile stock discrepancies · Maintenance of purchase ordering process including · Creating supplier purchase orders for approval · Entering purchase order into inventory management system · Updating all relevant stock sheets including critical path · Recording inwards goods deliveries when they arrive in inventory management system · Updating appropriate files information · Maintaining product records in inventory management system including supplier cost price · Standard RRP selling price as well as customer type/group specific pricing · Kit Product component information, including component cost · Maintaining customer specific pricing information · Generating monthly stock sales reports · Updating master production information sheet · Assisting with regular warehouse stock take process · Maintaining stock records for products held off site at supplier factories · Manage filing of Inspection reports, test reports, audit reports, fabric approvals and critical path. · An understanding of the suppliers’ capabilities and the production process. · Assist in conducting sourcing enquiries when required. · Be in contact with suppliers/factories dealing effectively worldwide by phone and e-mail. · Providing general admin support to Technologist and covering general tasks when Technologist is out of office or travelling · Sample management - including chasing sample submissions (to maintain timelines/delivery dates) and logging in samples · Updating Product specification work books where required overseen by Technologist · Ensuring Production samples match the Technical specifications The person ·Experience in inventory management ·Minimum intermediate level MS Excel user ·Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Textile Industry, ideally educated to degree level. ·Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work ·Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills ·Ability to prioritize workload and work independently ·Microsoft Windows applications ·Ability to multi task ·Ability to work well in team environment ·Sense of urgency ·You must be an excellent communicator, able to work to tight deadlines, with experience of working with international manufacturers and a strong knowledge of pattern cutting and garment construction. ·Have good commercial awareness and business acumen ·Passionate about textiles ·Be assertive in your decisions and problem solving. ·You must have a passion for technology, a creative eye for product and a personal pride in ensuring and improving product quality. ·Driven and ambitious to succeed ·A logical and pro-active approach to problem solving. ·A 'can do' attitude and fast and flexible thinking ·Must be an excellent team player A salary of £22k - £25k, 20 days’ holiday and pension.
