Our client are an award winning UK based manufacturer of aluminium display systems and other bespoke solutions for exhibitions, events, and retail environments. Over the 20 years that they have been in business they have worked with a number of designers, architects, retailers and trade clients including high street retailers and blue chip global companies. They are currently l ooking for a bright and enthusiastic Technical Estimator to join their already successful, expanding and friendly team. The primary role of the Technical Estimator is to compile estimates for the costs of providing clients and potential clients with the Company’s products and services. The position holder will be concerned with calculating the best price that enables the Company to be competitive in winning a project or contract whilst ensuring profitability. The right candidate must be motivated, innovative and resourceful, with a high level of communication skills. This is a permanent position based in the Middleton, Greater Manchester. We are offering a competitive salary in excess of £30,000 with additional bonus and healthcare, as well as the chance to develop your career with an industry leader. Duties will include: Prepare concise, quality cost estimates for clients and potential clients Set appropriate budgets for contracts based on costs and revenue required Assess clients’ requirements and Company requirements to ensure estimates satisfy both parties Research materials, equipment and labour costs Collect quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors Build and maintain strong relationships with both clients and suppliers Estimate accurate timescales for projects and contracts Monitor all project stages to ensure that costs are kept in line with forecasts · Assist with competing for bids for new contracts Deliver clear and concise instructions to appropriate departments Maintain constant communication with Management and other departments, diligently reporting progression of projects What are we looking for? The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar estimating capacity within engineering, technical specification and/or manufacturing. Furthermore, in order to be successful in this role the chosen candidate will be technically able with an understanding of our solutions. Strong mathematical and financial analysis skills would also be a distinct advantage as well as being IT literate and proficient in all Microsoft Office programs. What is on offer?
