My client is a successful and dynamic engineering, manufacturing and distribution business providing an innovative range of products and solutions to global customers.As experts in their field, they have an excellent track record for developing imaginative engineering solutions and creating a wealth of high performance products which service medical and industrial markets. As a fast growing business, they are looking to appoint a strategic, highly engaging and experienced Group HR Manager to develop and lead a fully integrated people strategy across the business divisions. This role requires a proactive and pragmatic individual who will be a true business partner and view HR as an 'enabler', as opposed to a policing or transactional function. This is a role focused on 'value add' and, as such, requires an operational HR expert who also has strategic ability, as well as the talent and desire, to make a difference within the business. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities for improvements, implement robust people related processes and take ownership for employee engagement, performance and people development. This is a key role for the business and will report into a Senior Director, acting as an advisor and supporter in employee related strategies which support business growth. Key accountabilities will include:- Developing and implementing a 'people strategy' which aligns with the strategy for the business Working towards developing an engaged, high performing workforce and a strong Company culture. Acting as the 'conscience' of the organisation and maintaining a positive employee relations climate. Advising on and developing proactive manpower plans within departments, focusing on the development of succession plans for critical talent and key positions throughout the business. Developing a communication strategy to ensure timely and relevant information is cascaded effectively. Creating and maintaining a robust training and development programme which ensures all people managers and leaders are equipped with the appropriate skills and tools to maximise their effectiveness. Developing a comprehensive performance management process. Develop key metrics to measure the effectiveness of the HR function and ROI. Ensuring the full remit of HR operational requirements are fulfilled professionally and with full legal compliance. Providing insightful support, business relevant advice, data and assistance on all HR related matters To be considered for this role you will be Degree educated in a business/HR related discipline and will have at least 8 years of experience in an HR capacity within manufacturing. A self starter, you will have creative flair and the ability to think broadly across the business, rather than just functionally. You will instil confidence at all levels, as well as personal presence, combined with warmth and empathy, to create strong professional relationships based on trust. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage change and cope with multiple, complex demands. Some overseas travel will be necessary to support other divisions within the Group.
