As our Web Developer, reporting directly to the Head of E-commerce you will develop web sites and other online technology whilst working closely with our in house Designer to realise the visions of the team. You will suggest ideas and ways in which we can advance the web sites and other online marketing further and work closely with our external agency to deliver high quality technical solutions. You will also manage and develop the content management system, integrate with other technology (using APIs), improve the efficiency of all systems related to E-commerce and work towards becoming a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer. Key Responsibilities the Web Developer will carry out: - Work with the Web Designer and external development agency to develop new site functionality - Work with a variety of external software to provide enhanced web site features - Suggest improvements to the site and technology as well as providing constructive feedback on ideas from the team - Develop an understanding of the bigger technical picture – how systems link together and could be improved - Provide clear information and suggested actions on developments, problems and opportunities - Manage work within a job management system The Ideal Web Developer will have the skills below: - Excellent knowledge of C# and the ASP. NET framework - Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript - Umbraco, preferred but not essential - The ability to meet tight deadlines, manage own workload and work well under pressure - Strong customer focus with the ability to build effective working relationships - Ability to understand and solve complex problems - Ability to continually learn new technologies - Teamwork ethic - Enthusiasm for new technology and continual improvement What can we offer you? - Competitive salary - Free car parking - Generous annual leave - Travel industry related benefits - Employee Assisted Programme - Pension scheme This is a permanent full-time contract working during the core opening hours of the business Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.
