An exciting opportunity for a new role has become available for a Client of ours in the Harrogate area for a SENIOR PAYROLL EXECUTIVE this position is on the outskirts of Harrogate and not easy to reach by public transport so the ideal candidate would have their own transport. Here is a general overview of the role : TIMESHEETS Reminder to HOD’s a few days in advance of the Due Date. Check Time Sheets ( for approx 200 employees) and other relevant Documents have been completed properly and they have been authorised. PREPARATION/INPUT Check the Current Pay Period is correct. Enter details for new Starters to ensure Record is there prior to Data input. Amend Salary changes, Tax Code changes, Student Loan Deduction Authorities, Bank Details, and any other permanent changes. Check Timesheets for any temporary adjustments/payments to be made, including Sickness, unpaid leave of absence, overtime hours, hours for Casual Staff, Bonus payments. Prepare and input Deductions for Staff Accommodation, Court Orders, Attachment of Earnings Orders and Salary Advances. There will be some Miscellaneous Deductions from time to time, but the amounts to be deducted will be notified by the appropriate person. Calculation of Statutory Maternity Pay, Payment of Statutory Paternity and Adoption Pay. Calculation and Payment of Statutory Sick Pay where appropriate. Employee Leavers Forms are completed by the HOD and sent to the HR Manager who will pass a copy to Payroll for processing. Check Dates etc. and calculate the Salary, any Holiday Pay and Lieu Time to be paid/recovered. CALCULATION AND CHECKING Running the Calculation Report and other relevant Reports including payslips, cheque list and BACS Listing. Check all Data to the copy Payslips, amending where appropriate. AUTHORISATION/PAYMENT Ensure payroll is authorised and bacs transmittion is done. PAYSLIP DISTRIBUTION Payslips are distributed as early as possible on Pay Day to the HOD’s. (1) MONTH END The appropriate Reports are produced followed by the RTI to HMRC on or before Payday. Run the P32 and complete the HMRC Reconciliation. Run the Nominal Report and then the Update. Check the Pay Period has moved on following completion of the Update. OTHER PAYROLL TASKS Complete the Pension Schedule and submit to Standard Life. Annual pension review/auto-enrolment Payroll Recharges to be completed, Trainees to be charged to the appropriate Department, and Wage and Holiday/Lieu Time Accruals to be completed. Preparation of year end returns (incl P11D’s), as required. OTHER Assistance with various other accounts department jobs, as deemed suitable and as time allows.
