Payroll Team Leader - Warwick Circa £35,000 (Dependent On Experience) Attractive Benefits Calor Gas is looking to recruit a proactive, detail focused and enthusiastic Payroll Team Leader to join our HR team based in Tachbrook Park, Warwick. This is a fantastic opportunity to really take ownership and make an impact. You will direct the payroll team in the delivery of a comprehensive, accurate and timely payroll service to the business ensuring that all of Calor's statutory obligations are met. You will also ensure the Payroll team are the Centre of Expertise for Payroll processes, leading the way in identifying and supporting process improvement. Key responsibilities will include: Set objectives for the payroll team and monitor performance Provide opportunities for training, coaching and support Build and maintain close working relationships with the wider HR team, while ensuring accurate processing of Payroll, Pension and Benefits Administration Review and create working systems to ensure processing errors can be reduced to a minimum Working with the Internal Audit function to ensure business compliance with clear payroll contingency planning Research, identify and communicate any potential payroll/tax implications to existing or proposed legislation Support the Reward Team with Expats/Secondments in and out of the UK to ensure annual tax returns and relevant documentations are provided on time and compliant Support the HR BA in resolving technical issues and logging/monitoring calls and progress Balance monthly payroll accounts and submit reports to the company's accounting department and ensure correct payments are made to external bodies (for example, the CSA or payment of CCJs) Delivery of a variety of projects as directed by the HR Manager to include but not limited to the annual pay review, P11d's and Auto enrolment As such we would like you to: Have a payroll qualification i.e. IPPM/CIPP Possess strong demonstrable experience of team supervision Be able to demonstrate strong and broad-based payroll experience, with sound awareness of Inland Revenue and other statutory requirements Be confident and proficient in using computerised payroll databases Ideally have ResourceLink Northgate experience Have experience of a similar sized payroll (currently 1200 staff plus 2500 pensioners) Be IT literate, having reached a competent level in Excel and Outlook (or equivalent) Be competent in utilising system report-writing packages Demonstrate effective communication and influencing skills Be able to work under own initiative with minimal supervision Possess an organised and effective approach in order to meet deadlines and plan and prioritise workloads in line with business priorities Be analytical and numerate Be a team player with a flexible approach to work duties Possess strong attention to detail Possess demonstrable tenacity; be able to investigate and fully resolve payroll-related problems Proactively seek out opportunities to give relevant support to others Take ownership of your actions and champion such Be clear and concise in all of your communication, adapting your style to be meaningful to your audience Be improvement focused and have the ability to and test and challenge processes/resources/people in order to get the most out of them If this sounds like you, please apply by clicking the link below.
