The Candidate: Will need to have a clear empathy for our business, does not mind ‘rolling their sleeves up’ and immersing themselves in the day to day business of promoting self-funding in the communities in which we operate. You will need to be self-motivated, need little day to day support, and be responsive to all communications – particularly phone and email. You will travel many miles, and stay away from home in hotels as the business needs. The Business Need: We do have a vital business need to develop retail ‘self-funder’ strategies, develop our retail capability and promote product awareness and advice to a variety of groups. This includes in-depot retail displays, marketing communications, Independent Living Centre relationships, working with contact Occupational Therapy teams as well as many outreach events and demonstrations. The role also includes management of our exhibition vehicle and attendance at major trade exhibitions across the country representing the company. The Role: Work with the Head of Retail Development to plan and deliver a strategy to fulfil the promised self-funder service description as described in tender submissions. Implement this plan across Medequip contracts. This will include: · Implementing retail independent living centre displays at Medequip units and maintain stock as and when required · Supporting the provision of our retail operations at depots · Working with our contract commissioners to identify key strategic areas for self-funding marketing within designated areas · Organising and delivering talks and presentations to carer groups, charities and organisations to promote self-funding options across contract area · Developing advice and communications for self-funders at Hospitals and Healthcare centres. · Working with local nursing homes to help with equipment choices once local authority funding is removed for individuals · Supporting Trade customers with ordering and timely delivery of orders from depots · Supporting Trade Customers with equipment and/or customer queries · Attending exhibitions as a key representative of Medequip · Working with the Exhibition Vehicle Manager to maximise proactive use of the Exhibition Unit at key placements such as hospitals and county shows Achievement Measurement: The jobholder will work with the Head of Retail Development to develop a structured plan to fulfil all Medequip’s ‘self-funder’ obligations for each contract. Weekly and monthly reviews will be completed to ensure this business requirement is met. Reports on the progress both the initial set up of retail services and on-going activities will be submitted each month; for feedback to the senior management team, the board of directors and the contract commissioners.
