Quality Engineer / Inspector – manufacturing Fixed term contract – potential to extend Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire 08.30 - 16.30 Monday to Friday Salary and benefits competitive GPS PE Pipe Systems , part of the Aliaxis Group, is a market leading manufacturer with a 100-year heritage; the pioneer of PE pipe systems in the UK we provide high performance piping products to the Utilities and industrial sectors. We have an opportunity for a meticulous individual with experience of product inspection and testing from within a manufacturing environment. Responsibility This is varied, hands on and physical role that focuses on product and approvals testing to ensure compliance with product specifications and standards. Working closely with the Quality, Technical, Manufacturing, Logistics, QC Lab and Health and Safety departments you will be applying quality engineering techniques to reduce product and system non-compliances and continually improve product and service quality. Activity will include: Product inspection and testing utilising equipment such as micrometers, OD tapes and cutting saws Supporting production in identifying, investigating and resolving quality issues from customers and internal checks Suggesting and implementing corrective actions Raising non-conformances and producing inspection documentation and quality reports Ensuring records and documentation is correct and the record management system is maintained and up to date Time spent at the local Wyton site undertaking stock and load auditing Undertaking ad hoc projects and getting involved in product and process improvements Skills/Experience We are looking for a confident and organised individual with the ability to work efficiently and autonomously. You will: Have experience in process/quality engineering within manufacturing although knowledge of our product range is not essential as training will be provided Ideally have used testing / cutting equipment however training will be provided Be detail conscious, a strong communicator and knowledgeable of H&S requirements Be PC literate and familiar with record management systems Be a team player, providing support and sharing knowledge with your team, colleagues and peers Have a full car driving licence as you will spend a small amount of your time at an additional local site (a company vehicle will be available to you) This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading brand in a large and successful global organisation with potential to extend contract terms / take up other potential opportunities in the business.
