Due to an internal restructure our client now seeks to recruit a Quality Engineer (Service Order Parts). The successful candidate will ideally have gained their expertise in a 1st tier automotive manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Quality Manager the Quality Engineer will be responsible for fulfilling the quality related deliverables within Service Order Parts department Deliverables: Analyse customer returns, concerns and defects found in the Service Order Parts production Prepare and maintain control plan for components and complete products Supervise effective use of SPC in production and evaluation of results Perform Capability Studies and Process Audits Perform Gage Studies (Gage R&R, Bias, Linearity and Stability) before gage is approved for production tests or after product change (when applicable) Support the continuous improvement of the Operator Description Sheets (ODS) Identify and use appropriate statistical tools to mentor and train team members in use of the statistical applications and techniques Lead Problem Solving teams for Root Cause Analysis on Plant/Customer issues Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree is required (or equivalent experience) Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including as a minimum QS9000, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control plans, DOE and SPC are also required Candidates may have these requirement waived only by the Advanced Quality Manager (or equivalent) Minimum 5 years in the Automotive Industry Minimum 3 years in Quality area within a production environment Knowledge of the AIAG Quality planning and Control Plan standard, FMEA?s, PPAP?s,Dimensional layouts, gage/fixture design and Performance/Material testing Manufacturing Quality system experience and customer communication activities Certification in Quality Engineering a plus.
