The Business Analyst and Product Owner role requires an individual who can perform the dual responsibility of being a Business Analyst and Product Owner, working within the larger Business Analyst team. As a Business Analyst, you will be required to analyse, document and propose software solutions for large and/or complex business areas and to prepare requirement specifications. After becoming experienced enough to do so, you will act as product owner for software products by representing the business and its objectives for those products. You will be required to set project priorities and work directly with agile development teams to realise project objectives We are a tech friendly department and you would preferably have previous experience from a hands on technical role, either as a developer, sys-admin, DevOps engineer, or similar. Duties and Responsibilities As a Business Analyst Identifying stakeholders and gathering functional and non-functional requirements for the project. Utilising analysis techniques including (but not limited to) interviews and workshops with stakeholders and subject matter experts, and incorporating into functional specifications. Analyse and document business processes and business rules. Document current and proposed business process flows using narrative and swimlane diagrams, and obtain sign-off from client on the specifications. Assist the QA team in validating user and system test plans. Work with internal or third party user experience designers to assist in the creation of wireframes or prototypes. Create use-case documentation to describe the basic course of action and alternative flows in the proposed software system. To provide the link between the customer and development team regarding software functionality throughout the development lifecycle. Work with the offshore development team throughout the development and test phases to ensure the delivered product meets with the functional specification. As a Product Owner Own the product and its backlog, maintaining the epics and requirements contained within them. Engage with key stakeholders in the business to set and understand the project’s high level requirements, and communicate key milestones of completion. Maintain regular contact with development teams to provide information when required. Engage in sprint planning with development team to ensure the right tasks are being worked on. Skills and Attributes Required Required: Minimum two years working as a Business Analyst. Experience working in an Agile / SCRUM team Experience of requirements elicitation and management Experience of Use Case design and modelling. Have a good working knowledge of Google Docs (preferred) or MS Office / Office 365. Good knowledge of business processes. Good knowledge of web / application development process. Good knowledge of development languages. Good knowledge of system architecture. Willingness to travel within the UK, and internationally as required, particularly to India (Mumbai). Desired: University graduate of Computing / IT / Business or related fields. Past experience from a technical role, such as a developer, sys-admin, DevOps engineer or similar.
