What: UI Designer When: ASAP Where: London Victoria Duration: 1 month Rate: £300 - £350 per day Job Purpose A guardian of the look, feel, branding and usability of our websites. Drives forward the customer experience and sales potential through design excellence. Develops creative ideas and produces visual solutions to meet the needs of our websites. Accountability Design and build Concept development/User interaction design & implementation Works with usability team to develop compelling website solutions that satisfy business strategies & objectives and customer need. Designs and builds web page layouts and supporting artwork. Produces high quality code to ensure the required level of customer experience is achieved. Optimises pages for browser and cross platform compatibility, download efficiency, usability and accessibility. Quality of work Supports the web design manager in ensuring the level of web design is always of a high standard for self and team. Is attentive to detail regarding all aspects of work delivery and actively highlights concerns. Suggests ways to be more efficient and effective. Time management Works efficiently on projects simultaneously delivering required work to a high standard and within deadline. If required, helps to develop, organise and document new methods/procedures for team and key users. Maintains regular communication with web design manager. Creatively resolves issues. Teamwork Works collaboratively with UI developers, programmers and UX architects to resolve and agree appropriate web solutions. Builds good relations and working practices with key teams and stakeholders. Has excellent all around communication skills. Technical development Has a passion for technology and design. Seeks to exploit these in the development of the web site and learn new skills in the process. Works with the development teams to combine technical skills and achieve step change web solutions. Keeps abreast of current trends in graphic and web design. Reviews competitor and non-competitor websites. Training Is able to mentor others and ensure the level of UI development is always to the high standards expected from the team. Works with others in the team to better understand requirements, processes and software packages. Shares knowledge and experience in day to day work. Communicates regularly any relevant information and has an excellent verbal / written English. Qualifications Art/design degree Experience Strong background in web design with a high level of commercial design experience. Strong responsive design, component design approach, HTML5, CSS2/ CSS3, accessibility experience Expert with Sketch and UI design software, html editor skills (Sublime etc), rapid prototyping applications. Experience with Agile process, project and productised change workflows Strong portfolio of work Retail, commercial & ecommerce awareness Customer experience / UX focused design Oracle ATG / CQ5 CMS understanding JS / JQuery understanding SASS understanding The recruiter has stated that all applicants for this job should be able to prove they are legally entitled to work in the UK.
