Software Developer (C# .NET) - Performing Arts A Software Developer (C# .NET) is needed to join a leading player within the Performing Arts / Casting industry on a 12 month fixed term contract. Based in the heart of the West End, this is an interesting opportunity for a developer to join an exciting and collaborative environment. With software used to cast Star Wars, James Bond, Homeland, Game of Thrones (and many more), this world leader was founded in 1927 and has a database of over 60,000 performers. Since their first website launched in 1997, they have continually delivered innovative applications that have revolutionised the casting industry, they are looking to expand their team in order to keep on doing just that. If you have delivered interactive web applications, ideally in C# / .NET, but if you've done MVC, repository patterns, IoC, mocking and test-driven development in Java or Ruby, and you're looking to move to .NET, then we'd love to hear from you. Their existing codebase is primarily .NET / C#. They have systems running ServiceStack, DotNetOpenAuth, EasyNetQ, NServiceBus, WebAPI, ASP.NET MVC, NHibernate, Linq-to-SQL and other open-source .NET frameworks. Their front-end is HTML, CSS and jQuery; there's some classic ASP code written in server-side JScript, and their back-end data store is Microsoft SQL Server. To qualify? We are seeking Software Developers / Web Developers / Software Engineers / Web Application Developers or similar who can demonstrate some of the following; we don't expect you to excel in all of them, if you are confident in a couple and have aspirations towards the others, that's great: Experience in delivering interactive web applications, with some or all of the following (C# / ASP.NET MVC / TDD / T-SQL / JavaScript / jQuery / HTML5 / CSS3 etc.). Bonus points for React or Chef; Experience building interfaces and APIs around legacy code; Familiarity with Scrum and agile projects, working with everyone from product owners to sys admins; Evidence of a wider interest in software development, say on StackOverflow, GitHub or Twitter; Excellent communication skills.
