This role is responsible for providing payroll analytical and management services in support of accurate payroll delivery in the UK, including transactional support, vendor coordination, and timely and accurate analysis of payroll related research and queries. The Payroll Consultant works closely with various members of the service delivery team and other payroll connected parties (Pensions, Tax, Equities, Finance, International Mobility, etc.). Description The Payroll Consultant is responsible for; This role is part of a team that is responsible for assisting and leading activities related to payroll processing in the UK, working with internal stakeholders and third party vendor partners to provide solutions to maintain and/or improve payroll services to employees on the UK domestic payroll. More specifically, this role Works closely with the Payroll Service Delivery Manager to deliver payroll-related transactions and projects, including but not limited to Monthly reporting and/or posting of various payroll related files e.g. uploading of employee pension contributions Monthly pre-payroll checking and processing corrections Manual adjustment of pay adhering to priority ordering of deductions for employees on reduced pay Processing same day payments Monthly post payroll reconciliation Processing requests for new payment codes to be set up in SAP HR and pay system Provides documentation and process information relating to audit requirements Provides direction and solutions around problem identification and resolution Liaising with vendor partners to ensure prompt and accurate payroll processing and related postings Provides escalated support to the HR community regarding payroll queries Acts as a liaison between vendor partners to resolve process issues on either side Liaison with Tax, Finance, and other internal parties as needed in support of payroll related activities, provide subject matter expertise in order to provide issue resolution Managing the overpayments and reclaim process, liaising with BFHR to ensure consistent application of the Overpayments Policy. Assists Payroll SDM in identifying and leveraging continuous process improvement opportunities Assists Payroll SDM in making sure process local work instructions are accurate, up to date, and fit for purpose Leads efforts relating to ad hoc and unanticipated work requests, as required Responsible for identifying payroll related measures to help improve the efficiency of payroll operations through trend analysis, metrics, etc. Responsible for the coordination and/or delivery of various additional activities or ad hoc requests, as required or identified Profile The ideal candidate for the Payroll Consultant role will; Have substantial experience in Payroll Administrations / Operations Sound understanding of HRMC legislation and legal compliance An understanding of complex PAYE and NI query resolution Project Management skills Experience Managing others - desireable Knowledge of HR systems strongly preferred Highly numerate / strong analytical skills required Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets Direct interaction/experience within an HR function preferred Knowledge of ADP payroll and Kronos time systems an advantage Ability to interact with employees at all levels Job Offer The Payroll Consultant role offers between £35-40,000 excellent benefits.
