An exciting opportunity to join a market leader in the manufacturing of window, door, solid roof and conservatory products, Conservatory Outlet is recruiting a Transport Planner to be responsible for the day to day management of the Transport Department. You will be responsible for the Operators License, running the department, ensuring compliance with driver rules and regulations. You will have strong administration, organisational and people management skills. In return we offer a competitive salary with an excellent benefits package including pension, health cash plan and free refreshments Role & Responsibilities To schedule and plan routes and ensure route optimisation and effective use of all company vehicles; To ensure company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures at all times; To ensure the fleet of vehicles are maintained in line with legal requirements; To be responsible for the day to day supervision of drivers and admin, providing administrative and managerial support to the department and ensuring a smooth, efficient transition of product to the customer; To ensure the smooth operation of the Transport Office, compiling and maintaining documentation and managing information; To be responsible for ensuring drivers operate in a safe and legal manner and comply with WTD and Driver Hours legislation; To collate weekly/monthly information for transport auditing purposes, including OTIF report; To ensure the de Brief of drivers on a daily basis and communicate their duties for the following day; To ensure all tachographs are collected / downloaded and analysed within the legal allocated time; To ensure all drivers training records and driving licences, digital tachographs, driver Qualification cards are up to date and checked regularly; To maintain full attendance and holiday records of all drivers; To issue all relevant driver documentation and ensure they are fully aware of their responsibilities and requirements; To organise vehicles for their Preventative Maintenance Inspections and MOT’s; To arrange for immediate rectification on breakdowns and repairs that may result in a PG9; To update and manage all vehicle records for service and maintenance. Person specification: The ability and knowledge to run the company operator’s license; Previous experience of working as a Transport Planner with the CPC qualification; Good knowledge of the UK road network; Good knowledge of the Road eye system; Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders; Excellent organisational and planning skills; Focus on the delivery of a quality service; Good teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage the staff team.
