A specialist provider of IT services and related support in the City of London is seeking a Systems Engineer with around 1-2 years of experience. The position is responsible for providing quality general support and engineering services for onsite / remote day-to-day client support; working as a team with partners IT staff, supporting a large pan-European multi-branch corporate client businesses. The position combines a strong & clear commitment to customer satisfaction, with a desire to progress one’s own technical IT/system skills. HOURS: shift pattern covering 8am – 7pm hours Monday to Friday; typically 8am – 4:30pm OR 10:30am – 7pm CORE DUTIES Ticket logging, 2nd – 3rd line support of desktops, servers, Cisco switches, Juniper firewall & other associated devices & acting upon monitoring system alerts Support will be provided via telephone, email, online tickets & in-person Responsible for managing escalations to other parts of company operations & vendors or partners, to ensure the prompt & satisfactory resolution of support cases Protect and enhance the goodwill of the company and its reputation for fair trading and ethical conduct Manage customers’ requirements and wishes for both technical and non-technical Assist in presenting pre-sales document/proposal to customers co-working with sales department Assist in design and implementation work for company’s customers on-site/off-site Management of third-party vendors Minimize security and quality incidents Train and assist new staff IDEAL APPLICANT Essential criteria Degree level or equivalent education in suitable IT related field 1 year or more experience in IT infrastructure industry, ideally in a support/engineer role Good communication skill with clients or end users Good team player Ability to find new sales opportunities and liaise on sale/pre-sales Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point) Product knowledge for BackupExec, ARCserve, MDT, SCCM, SEP operation Operating system knowledge Vista, Windows 7, Windows 2003 R2, Windows 2008 R2 Experience with Windows services: AD, DHCP, DNS, GPO, Pinter queues, Shared folders WAN/LAN network troubleshooting Desirable additional experience Cisco switch & router hands-on Juniper SSG/SSL-VPN hands-on Vmware vSphere hands-on MCTS Windows 7(and/or 8) & MCTS Windows Server 2008 (and/or 2012) Cisco CCNA If your application is successful, you will be contacted within 2 days.
