UX Designer Digital Experience Design Services London Base Location Who you’ll be working with Capgemini UK Digital Experience Design Services are a newly formed team working alongside others within Capgemini. We design, adapt and develop user experiences tailored to customers’ real life, across different interfaces, devices and digital platforms. The focus of your role We’re looking for a UX Designer willing to embark on this exciting new journey and help us shape it. You will work with digital strategists, Visual Designers and technologists in a creative environment to develop new product ideas and bring them to market and help our clients deliver the best customer experience, leveraging creative talent and business acumen to enable the team to deliver the best and optimal solution. Our work requires us to balance user needs with business objectives: the right products for our clients are the ones that meet both. The UX Designer focus is mainly on the ideation and creative side of projects and this is reflected in the responsibilities outlined below. For us, the true user experience comprises of a product that is useful, easy to use and beautifully designed. We are looking for a designer with a mix of skills to deliver just that. Awesomeness. What you’ll do You’ll be responsible to deliver a wide range of user experience projects such as expert evaluation, usability testing, research to develop customer insight, information architecture and interaction design. You’ll need to excel at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design engagement. As a digital engineer with a creative talent and expertise in design, you’ll be responsible to: Deliver great user experiences through interfaces that are relevant (doing the right thing), easy to use (doing it right), beautiful and on brand (appealing). Manage the creative process from ideation to delivery, with a keen eye for beautiful and on brand user interfaces. Design, develop and commission observational and quantitative research. Synthesize quantitative / qualitative findings and develop insights. Run ideation workshops. Understand the interdependencies across all touchpoints, mobile, tablets and IoT in order to define the best interaction across them. Work in synergy with the agencies generating brand content in order manage assets and content across all digital touchpoints. You will work on a diverse range of projects from web to mobile, tablets and beyond, working independently as a member of a small team with minimum supervision but plenty of support, managing a variety of projects. What you’ll bring You’ll bring a passion and capability in the design and development of engaging user experiences. Technically minded, perhaps you coded websites in HTML/CSS and responsive too. As a result you gained an appreciation of how things are built, allowing you to be at ease with developers, listening, learning, debating and articulating your design decisions. You are equally at ease with clients and stakeholders, running workshops, gathering requirements, iterating your ideas and designs until you have achieved a good balance between technical constraints, business requirements and user needs. You’ll already have experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment and a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centred design methodologies. You’ll thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. Experience Solid experience as a UX designer. Experience of Mobile and Web; mobile with understanding of UI best practices on mobile and web across all platforms. Skills covering Graphics Design, UI design and Information Architecture. Experience of working in agile teams and working in an agile manner in a commercial environment. Working with both clients and developers to bring your designs to life, balancing technical constraints, business requirements and user needs. Facilitation of client workshops in order to gather requirements and evolve your designs. Experience of UX tooling, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure or Sketch. Personal attributes: You’ll be passionate in supporting our clients to and design, deliver and optimise their digital user experience in integrated and connected cross channel environments. To be successful you’ll bring energy and passion to your work and a proactive attitude and collaborative style to project delivery. You’ll need to be credible, with the gravitas to engage effectively with the team and the client. You’ll demonstrate professionalism and flexibility - you’ll be able to adjust positively to situations that involve changing tasks and/or location, shifting priorities or ambiguity. Why join us? We offer a remuneration package which includes fixed salary, and in addition for Senior Consultant and above, you will receive variable compensation dependent on company and personal performance.
