Solutions Architect - Permanent - Gloucestershire - £45,000 - £52,000 The successful candidate will work within the Solutions Team in a 'pre-sales' technical support role identifying innovative and deliverable solutions to a problem presented by our client's customers. Key Responsibilities: To actively engage with the customer's in order to develop the business unit. Engage with customers prior to the issue of a request for either a task or an innovation in order to determine where our client can actively assist by providing one or more solutions to their problems, issues and aspirations. Work as an individual or part of an engagement team to elicit customer requirements in the pre-sales process to capture fully the needs of the customer. Provide support in the analysis of the customer's business processes and requirements. Provide support in identifying innovations and innovative technical solutions/processes to requirements/problems. Identify suppliers, products or services to satisfy customer requirements either declared or in the Solutions space. Work with internal service lines and external companies to identify the supply of equipment for use in bespoke solutions or options developed by the Chief Technologist. Identify existing and new supplier products/services that offer positive benefits to the f deployed within his environment as part of a proposed solution devised by the Solutions Team. Identify suppliers that provide products that could benefit customers operations that require expertise, support or partnering from our client to turn their opportunities into customer deliveries. Support the Solutions Team to create, implement and manage an engagement plan with the stakeholders, preferred suppliers and suppliers bringing innovative solutions/ services/ products to market that could be utilised. To act as a Subject matter expert and as necessary support the Project Delivery organisation to deliver projects /support. Analyse data and provide management reports. Adopt, embrace and demonstrate the company's values and beliefs. Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act (DPA) to provide the appropriate level of control of all personally identifiable information to which you have access as part of your role. Understand and enforce all relevant Information Assurance and DPA control measures required as part of your role. Ensure appropriate communication is maintained with all stakeholders to create and maintain strong, lasting relationships with customers, suppliers, project sponsors and Company stakeholders. Enhance our client's reputation by ensuring that all Solutions services that you deliver are professional and meet or exceed expectations. Desired Experience & Qualifications An adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities. A-level qualified in a relevant area, plus experience in a relevant industrial/ project engineering environment. Must possess a general technical understanding of all of the activities and technology of the Security business unit. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with Solution Team members, clients, customers and superiors at all levels and in all areas of management. Teamwork skills to ensure the effective and cohesive functioning of the Solutions Team. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer. Good commercial awareness and an understanding of contract and commercial management. Proven ability in the management of vendors/suppliers/subcontractors. Ability to work under pressure and to use own initiative. Possess a full, UK Driving Licence. Desired Skills Understanding of system engineering processes (highly desirable): Waterfall, V-Model design methods. Iterative design methods (e.g. Spiral). Incremental design methods (e.g. Agile). Service Orientated (e.g. SOA). Structured system analysis and design (SSADM, OOA, RUP, UML, etc.). Architectural frameworks (MODAF, DODAF, NAF etc.). CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate. JNCIA-JUNOS - Juniper Networks Certified Associate. CCHA - Cloudera Certified Hadoop Administrator. VCA-DCV - VMware Certified Associate - Data Centre Virtualisation. ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management. ITIL ® Intermediate Certificate in IT Release, Control and Validation. MBCS - Membership of British Computer Society. ENGTech - Certified Engineering Technician. ICTTech - Certified ICT Technician. TMIET - Technical Member of the IET. GIAC GSEC - GIAC Security Essentials Certified. Work flexible hours both abroad and in the UK when necessary. Travel abroad and in the UK when necessary. Undertake any duties over and above those listed, within reason.
