A major cement and building materials producer are seeking a Quarry Manager to join their team in the United Kingdom. The Quarry Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations for extraction of the Quarry. The main duties of the Quarry Manager are leading the site team through a team of supervisors, ensuring that SHE requirements & production targets are met whilst driving and instilling a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities: · Safety – Active leadership and management of safety processes and culture to minimise hazard, risk and unsafe events across all operations activities in the unit · Cost – Delivery of responsibilities within agreed costs · Quality – Supply of product to agreed customer specification · Delivery – Supply of product for distribution on time and in full · Leadership – Active Visible management of Unit · License to operate – Compliance of unit to any statutory procedures and reporting requirements for ongoing license to operate · Equipment – Monitoring of plant condition and performance, management of operations plans and activities and effective use of maintenance services to ensure ongoing capability to produce at required performance · People – Development of committed, high-performing operations team · Estates. I.e. Ensure compliance with planning constraints and any other applicable regulations · Mineral Extraction, Geology and Stock Management · Efficiency & Effectiveness. I.e. Develop and implement planned and preventative maintenance schemes for the quarry & ensure compliance with planning constraints and other applicable regulations · Sustainability. I.e. manage operations performance at the unit to meet and improve upon targets for safety, cost, quality, delivery, reserves, license to operate, equipment and people and agree SMART objectives and review via the PDP process · Safety, Health and Environment. I.e. Ensure compliance with company and statutory policies and regulations · Costs You Will Have: · Working towards or achieved NVQ SHE Level 4 · Experience of planning manning levels · Quarry regulations designated Role · Working knowledge of SHE legislation and best practice · People management skills · Communication and influencing skills · Practical problem solving skills · Coaching skills · Product, customer and market knowledge · Relevant legislation and regulations · Knowledge of best practice production systems thinking and implementation · Financial understanding · Target setting, reviewing and monitoring · NVQ in Drilling & Blasting · Knowledge of reactions to change on workforce · Understanding of operating costs · Experience of interpreting cost reports and addressing under performance · Understanding of procurement processes · Knowledge and understanding of SHE regulations and compliance · Understanding of risk assessment and permit to work processes · Understanding the importance of near hit reporting · Knowledge and understanding of Task auditing On offer is an attractive package for the right candidate.
