Telecommunications Engineer Manchester city centre (2 minutes from Manchester Victoria train station) £30,000 - £33,000 benefits Job Purpose An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the growing Telecommunications Department and become a member of the team. You will be working in a team based environment, providing support to users in all our offices. The key objectives of the role are: Responsibility for supporting and maintaining the company's Telecommunications systems and for providing efficient support to all business users at first and second line. To provide billing support regarding our 3 rd party suppliers. The department is responsible for resolving any Telecommunications related faults quickly and efficiently. To work within SLA and KPI targets to agreed business priorities. To be pro-active in suggesting and proposing new technologies to support the businesses. Identify on-going improvements to existing business systems. Escalating issues to the Telecommunications Manager where necessary. Setting up and configuring new phones, lines and queues and strategies. Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers and equipment. Working on project's set by the Telecommunications manager. Providing support and implementing projects across our UK and Irish sites. Mandatory Skills The successful Telecommunications engineer must have: More than 5 years' experience in the telecommunications field Experience in 1 st /2 nd line support. Experience with supporting customers over the phone and in person. Experience of ticket management and working within a team. Experience in billing and NGN platform management. Experience in PBX and VOIP support and implementation. Patching of network and phones. Undertaking large-sized moves and projects. Be passionate about telecommunications Desirable Skills Unify products (OSV/OSCC/ Xpressions/DLS) experience. BT billing analyst experience. BT architect/lite control experience. What you Bring to the Team Five or more year's commercial experience on 1 st /2 nd line Service desk. Demonstrates an enthusiasm for telecommunications systems and services to meet the new challenges and business demands within emerging technologies. Methodical and accurate, very good attention to detail and is focussed towards delivering great service for 1 st time fixes and implementing fixes across the system to combat repeat issues. Thrives in a supportive and friendly working environment and with a desire to share new innovative ideas and skills. Has good communication and excellent customer service skills. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic that can work with limited supervision and guidance. Demonstrates a highly committed attitude and works towards common goals with others. Demonstrates commitment and hard work to ensure continual delivery of quality services.
